New Moon, New Possibilities!

In a previous blog post, I shared how we sometimes interchange the terms "new moon" and "dark moon," however, originally, these were two different days. Originally, the dark moon was the night with no moon. Makes sense, right? And the new moon was a day or so later when that first little sliver of the "new" moon was visible. I have decided I like this way of labeling these particular phases, because they just make sense to me.

That being said, this weekend is the "dark moon" on Saturday, in Leo. This is a good week to really think about what aspects of your life experience you are ready to release. Write all those aspects down on a piece of paper, light a candle, put on some "mood" music and really get serious about letting some "stuff" go! Burn your paper in the candle, taking whatever necessary safety precautions are necessary, of course.

If you are really serious about letting go of some "stuff," do this ritual three times on three different days, the last day being Saturday, three being the magic number of manifestation! I like to dance around the candle or fire three times, counter clockwise! The third time, which should be on Saturday, the actual dark moon, you should dance around your fire nine times: nine being three times three!

You should really be good and cleansed by Sunday or Monday (depending on which calendar you look at), when that first sliver of a moon appears. Now you are ready to manifest!

Using the same ritual, now you are going to write down what things you want to bring into your life! Really connect with your heart and decide what is in your highest good according to your soul. Just wanting a new car or a new couch is not what I am talking about here.

Where does your soul want to go from here?

Are there other people involved in what you are trying to manifest?

Let's say, for example, you are getting a divorce, and you have small children. You, your ex, and your children, are all going to be affected by this decision, whether it was your decision or not. You might say something like this: 

I now ask and request of my (Higher Power, or My Soul) that this divorce be manifest in the best possible way and that everyone who is affected may benefit in some way. May all circumstances come together to bring the highest good for everyone concerned.

You will write this, or your own affirmation on a piece of paper three times, burn it in a candle or fire three times on three different days, dance around the fire, this time clockwise, three times, and the last day nine times.

Then, let it go.

Yes, that is right! You don't have to mull over it, think about it, visualize it, feel it, or any of that! Completely give it up to your Soul or your Higher Power or the Angels. Expect that it is taken care of. Expect results.

And don't go around bad mouthing your ex or complaining about any details or challenges you may face in the interim. 

Do you get my drift?

As you can see, rituals can be simple or extravagant. 

Intention is everything.

Of course, my hope is that you will tailor this ritual to fit your own personal agenda, plans, or intentions. Don't ever try to cross free will, and always ask for the highest good for everyone concerned.

Name It and Claim It

I was certain that at some point in my past I have written this message down. But I couldn't find it. My first thought was to find it and just repost it. For some reason while I am doing some paperwork for my husband's business, this message came back to me.

I don't know why.

I know now that when I remember a message from the past for no apparent reason, there must be a reason why. I will relay the old message that just came to me after I give you a little insight into how my day has progressed.

I woke up this morning from a dream. I had dreamed of a terrorism attack. I was in a car trying to get home and on the radio I heard that the attack had happened about 800 miles from a centralized location in the US that controlled all of the electricity for the entire country. I don't think this is accurate. I would imagine that electric cannot be controlled from a central location, but that is just my thought. Anyway, in the dream this was significant. On my drive to get home there were countless obstacles in my path. I was worried about my family. I had the thought that I should go buy some nonperishable food items in case we did lose electricity. Then I woke up.

Throughout the day today, I thought a bit about the dream. I emailed some of my friends and associates and asked them just to send out positive energy throughout the planet. It may have just been a dream. I may have been dreaming of something personal or maybe for someone close to me... Or maybe not.

At some point as the day has progressed I forgot about the dream. I then started to get the feeling like something really good was about to happen. A complete turnaround from the dream. Almost a giddy, feel good feeling that you would get if you were destitute and someone gave you a million dollars. That kind of feeling.

So anyway, I am sitting here doing some paperwork, and I remembered a message I got many years ago. I know at some point I have written this message down and published it in my blog. I looked back through my old blog posts.

Anyway, I couldn't find the old post, so I am retelling this message with an addendum from Spirit. Here goes.

It was...oh.. about thirteen or fourteen years ago now, maybe more when I got this message.

My life was a living hell. I was depressed. I was poor. I was miserable. I will  not give the reasons for my misery, but at some point, I got this message. At the time I was calling my messages.. "words.. from the Holy Spirit." This is a message from a story in the Bible.

I can't remember where in the Bible this story is, but somewhere in the Old Testament, there was a city that was surrounded by an enemy army. The enemy army had cut off all the food supply and the people were inside the city starving. Inside the city there was a prophet and a king. The prophet went to the king and told him that as of this time tomorrow, there would be riches and food enough to spare! The king got angry at the prophet and told him that it wasn't possible and he shouldn't be raising up the hopes of the people that way! Well, this made the prophet angry so he told the king that the prophecy would indeed come to pass but the king would not see it happen!!

That night right outside the city gate there were two or three beggars. Talking amongst themselves, they decided to try to go over to the enemy camp and beg for food. This they did. However, when they got there, amazingly enough, the camp was empty! The enemy army had run away, but they had left all their food and supplies intact! Of course the beggars ran back to the city and told everyone! There was a rampage of people running out to the camp to gather up all the food and supplies!! In their hurry, they trampled the king! So the prophet's words came true!

The message came to me years ago when I was destitute! My message from God (or Source, Universe, hey I have already written in a previous blog my thoughts about the names for God) was that I was destitute now (at that time in my life), but that I would see a reversal of fortune within a short period of time.

No it did not happen in a day. I had to go through some difficult times. But in a relatively short period of time, I looked back one day and I remembered the message. And I knew it was true!!

I wanted to post this message just in case there is someone out there on the end of their rope. All hope is gone and they don't know how they will survive. I am sending you the message that hope is not lost!! You have attracted the attention of the Source of All That Is and you have found favor in His/Her eyes!  There will be a reversal of fortunes!! It will come speedily and surprisingly!! And my Angels specifically said to me that the blessings will come from a surprising source!! It will not come through the route you will expect it to!

Now I am always looking for an unexpected blessing so I am taking this message to be personal for me too!! But I wanted to extend the blessing to my readers as well!! You can claim this blessing too!! No you do not have to mail me a donation for a specific amount of money to benefit or for me to put your name on the blessing list! Just say.. out loud or in your heart... that is for me!! I want that unexpected blessing!! Yes I am saying .. name it and claim it.. (ha ha.. can you tell from whence I came??? Yes I used to be a holy roller..I come from a heritage of holy roller preachers, it must be that generational thing jumping on me)..

Expect your unexpected blessing! Look around every corner thinking.. it may be right around the corner. No, don't spend your whole paycheck on lottery tickets. Don't do anything stupid. Just have an expectant heart.

One day, you will look back and remember this post and remember you "claimed" this blessing. And it will have come to pass.

Just remember to say thank you.

Summer Solstice

The summer solstice is upon us, a time to celebrate summer, long days, the sun shining longer this time of year, and reflect on the first half of the year, making necessary changes or adjusting your goals for the second half of the year. Many people make resolutions or goals at the beginning of the year, but not so many use the solstice to reflect on those goals or make adjustments.

A full moon is a time to really focus on manifesting. The energy of the full moon is good up to three days after, and then after that the energy of the moon is waning and better used for help with releasing things that are no longer helpful for you in your life's journey.

Take this time of year to celebrate with like minded friends and acquaintances. Find rituals that are meaningful for you to honor the earth, the sun, and the moon and thank them for their participation in your life. Here are a few ideas!!

Think about your goals for this year. Have you been working on them or have distractions or obstacles seemed to come against you? Do you even remember what your goals were at the beginning of the year?

 Now is a great time for calling upon the powers of the Universe for help manifesting.

Remember that anything you do with intention has power!!

Everything has a meaning, but only the meaning you attach to it. If I say that when I see a butterfly I think of transformation and the power of going within yourself to bring forth a thing of beauty, that is because that is the meaning I have attached to a butterfly. What if, when you were a child, you had a dream that you were attacked and eaten by a butterfly? You would probably not attach the same meaning to it as I did!  Go within yourself and find meaning in rituals, or certain meaningful objects.

Think of an affirmation that describes what you would like to achieve for the second half of the year and focus on that intention during your ritual. Make sure it is seven words or less (something taught to me by my shamanic mentor, which she learned from her mentor... too many words cause a weakened affirmation.)  You could do something artistic, like write it out on a piece of wood or a rock and place it in a natural setting. Be sure to ask permission from any natural object before using it for a ritual. Many people ask me how to know whether the object has given you permission or not. I get an inside feeling, like yes or no. Sometimes, especially on rocks, I will see a smiley face if it is a yes or a frown if it is a no.

Here are some sample affirmations:

 My life is blessed with abundant prosperity .

I enjoy abundant health.

My relationships are mutually beneficial for all.

I manifest a deeper Divine connection.

I surrender my plans to the Universe.

My path is headed in the right direction.

I now easily manifest.......(you fill in the blanks)


In my spiritual class to be held at my home in Winchester, Virginia, on the solstice, we are going to celebrate using all four elements, water, fire, air and earth, using these elements to increase the power of our intentions. We will seek council from Spirit for adjusting our intentions, and thank the Universe by drumming, dancing, and other powerful rituals.
